May I introduce myself?

Hello, my name is Tamara. I am a retired German writer/translator and visual artist with a passion for travelling. To keep things budget-friendly I offer free housesits: caring for your home and your cat(s) while you are on holiday or on a business trip. 

For me, housesitting is a great way to experience real life in different cities, countries and cultures. It allows me to combine my love for travelling with my love for cats, to continue my work from a temporary home base and to connect with other cat lovers. 



Me in a nutshell:

  • Age: 64
  • Nationality: German
  • Home Base: Berlin but I spend much time in Paris
  • Fully vaccinated & boostered against Covid 19 and the flu 
  • Education: M.A. in American Studies, German Studies and psychology (Freie Universität Berlin)
  • Work experience: journalist, translator, writer, artist (abstract painter), language teacher
  • Current work: freshly retired but I continue to write. I paint when I am at my place in Berlin 
  • Interests: yoga, meditation, watching news 
  • Languages: German, English and French
  • Lifestyle: healthy and active. I rarely drink, I am a non-smoker and drug-free (lifelong)
  • Personality: reliable, organized, mindful, energy and security conscious
  • Police check: yes ("Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis", renewed in Berlin/Germany in October 2022)
  • Cat sit experience: 85 catsits for 48 hosts (for 17 hosts more than once) since June 2017
  • Pets I sit for: cats, fish, some dogs
